Family wellness vacation in the mountains

Tell the nanny she has the week off! After returning home from our last jet setting rendezvous, I realized vacations are not bad for your health. Wait, let me rephrase that. ‘Family’ vacations are not bad for your health. With endless harrowing, horror stories from friends, I decided to research and book an exciting escape to Sudtirol, Italy, at a family friendly hotel, Hotel & Spa Falkensteiner Lido Ehrenburgerhof. By day two, my daughter was begging to participate in the (all day) kinder care program, orchestrated by children loving adults who speak several languages. I, on the other hand, was more interested in the beautiful spa located far away from the whining bouts of toddlers. We even ventured out ‘as a relaxed family,’ via train (located directly outside the hotel entrance), to the nearby city of Bruneck to feed my Italian shoe addiction. This cute, quaint city, located in the middle of the sprawling Italian mountainside was just what the doctor ordered. The warmth of the people, the beauty of the resort and the easiness of the trip was a desired shock to the senses. The possibilities were endless, and everyone was happy.

When booking this hotel, be sure to ask for 'Lake View'. Gorgeous!!!

We just got back from our 'lake view' family room and it was GREAT! The staff was friendly, the kid's club a hit, the rooms lovely, and the food was also nice. The best part were the guests who came from Italy, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and even someone else from the States :) The skiing was also amazing at Kronplatz. I can highly recommend this wonderful family hotel!

Thanks Kim for this great hotel tip!
We stayed at the Falkensteiner Hotel Lido Ehrenburgerhof for a few nights during Easter and had a wonderful time. The setting was great to ski or to go for a bike ride and outdoors activities. The family room was very practical for a stay with children. Our 2 children (3 and 5) had a great time playing around the lake, on the playground and at the kid’s club. My husband and I enjoyed nice romantic dinners while the girls had their own meals and evening activities or cinema. The wellness center was also an oasis of peace with big selection of treatments. We can also recommend this family hotel and will probably go there again in the future.
