Kim is a Mid Western girl, born and raised in south Detroit, who currently resides in Germany. After marrying her favorite German import in the states and breeding two lovely girls in Europe, she was fortunate enough to meet Laura, her fellow blogger. Self proclaimed ‘product junkie’ and ‘travel enthusiast’, Kim is a spirited city girl, who takes pleasure in eating (will try anything) and sharing a good bottle of red wine with her friends. She managed to discover with much laughter, the paradox of living in a new culture, while at the same time making Germany her new home. After continually trying to shed her ever eluding foreign status, she’s accepted it with a smile and enjoys the adventures her new life brings.
Laura is a California girl who grew up traveling with her family around the world, so she is not completely surprised that she is now living in Germany. After marrying her German husband, they moved to Ludwigsburg, her husband often noting she was the best souvenir he brought back from America! Two little boys later have altered but not cramped their travels, both boys using their passports from an early age. Beginning life in Germany often left Laura consulting various ‘culture shock’ references, but now she enjoys the wonderful array of culinary, travel, shopping, cultural and active pursuits her new home provides for her family.
