Austrian Rest Stop Adventure Park

Baroquebabies reader, friend, and former Ludwigsburg resident Sonia felt inspired to share her recent rest stop adventure while driving her family from their new home in Switzerland to the Wellness Family Hotel in Sudtirol Italy we posted about last month. For our readers, a little secret for your next road trip...
Travelling with kids is great fun but the greatest challenges on a longer car excursion can be the rest stops. Parents and kids need to get out their wiggles, grab a bite to eat, something to drink and the car needs to be filled up. Most rest stops in Europe are ok but we found one on a recent trip to Sudtirol Italy that was amazing. That is an understatement as we ended up spending two hours there! Located on the E60 between Liechtenstein and Innsbruck, the Trofana Tyrol was by far the BEST rest stop I have yet seen in Europe or the States. The food was great – we enjoyed made to order stone-oven pizza whilst the kids had fish sticks and fries. After lunch we took a walk to the playground that boasted trampolines, swing sets and many other playground favorites. Then it was off to walk to the small animal zoo with local ‘heirloom’ farm animals! Before we left, the kids took the slide from the Marktplatz to the indoor playroom downstairs where the restrooms also happen to be. Where else do you get that? The answer – nowhere, except here! Have any of our other readers found road trip treasures like Sonia, wherever you are? Please share!
