Seeing as the last few weeks have left me deeply saddened due to the cancer prognosis of my beautiful friend, Liela, I'm going to stop the crying and turn the music up a little louder this Mother's Day. I love you my dear, and I'll be thinking about you and the girls on this special day as we celebrate how wonderful you truly are.
The most important day of the year deserves a little selfless behavior involving big fluffy pillows, whipped cream filled hot chocolate (great anytime of the year) and most importantly, the kids. If I could throw pajama parties every day, all day with the girls, I would. I love being wrapped in comfort and I love jumping around crazily with the girls. Whether on vacation, hanging with the in-laws or lounging around the house on Mother's Day, when we put on our matching p.j.s I see the twinkle in my daughter’s eyes (I'm sure my air guitar is burned in her memory...forever!). Perhaps the partner look is a little corny for some, but it is a way for me to show the girls how proud I am to be their mother. Our favorite pastime and morning Mother's Day tradition involves our super cool, hipster matching lounge/pajama wear and smiles. Although our sets are a bit 'Rock Star-ish' I did find some lovely pieces at Red Envelope for those of you looking to wake up without loud music and air guitar solos. No worries, Liela, I'll be sure to videotape our performance and send you a copy to brighten your day with that gorgeous smile of yours.
We would love to hear about your most inspiring Mother's Day moments and those that inspire you the way Liela's strength has inspired me. Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!!
