The red big bad wolf! This is our most often requested story in this wonderful Grimm fairy tale book that is certain to be loved for years! The “red big bad wolf” is actually a story in which seven little goats are eaten by a big bad wolf (wearing a red shirt) while their mother is gone. Do not worry, there is a happy ending, similar to that in Little Red Riding Hood (also in this book). In this book are fourteen fairy tales, each with about three pages of detailed text followed by two full pages of a beautifully illustrated summary of the story. Right now our almost four year old prefers that we look at the picture page while papa or I retell the fairy tale. This book is written in German but if yours is not top (as mine!), it’s just as fun to retell the story by looking at the picture or simply pick out all sorts of secrets and details in the illustrations. Die schönsten Märchen der Brüder Grimm is always a top choice from my boys for papa’s Gute Nacht (goodnight) book reading time!
