Cooking with kids can be very fun when you keep the recipe and the ingredients simple. Today's Saturday Side Scoop is probably something you're familiar with but never think much about....Pita Pizza's. My girls look forward to 'Pita Pizza Friday' every week. It gives the kids an opportunity to decorate their pizza with fun (and healthy) toppings, a little pizza sauce (L's favorite part is spreading the sauce EVENLY- so German of her) and of course eating the end result. Here's my tip for a fun and easy evening home with the kids. Enjoy!
Preheat oven (400F for the states or 195 C) spread the pita with a little olive oil and pop it into the oven for a minute or so. After removing the pita allow kids to spread the sauce, add their favorite toppings (L & Q like tomatoes) sprinkle on some cheese and bake for an additional 9-12 minutes. Super easy and very delicious.
*We also enjoy dipping our heated pitas into the leftover pizza sauce- cheap and easy homemade breadsticks!!
