Great Family Fun Ideas

We come across great ideas every day; the Victoria Secret Ultra Sexy Push-Up Bra (I swear my mommy boobs are 'naturally' lifting as I type- if you don't have one go and buy it immediately!!!), the German way of cooking (secretly using the Knorr mixing packets) which make 'mystery dinner night' not so mysterious, our blog, http://www.baroquebabies.com/ and most importantly great ideas from random mothers trying 'effortlessly' to be the best, most creative mother out there. I would donate my entire mommy breast lifting bra drawer to be as clever as most of these folks, but I do the best I can with the genes that were given to me. Do I think I'm clever? Absolutely, but here are some great ideas I stumbled across (through Family Fun write-in's) over the last several months. If you don't subscribe (nationally or internationally) you should, because they have an amazing way to feature so many creative mothers who leave their stamp on what will surely become a family heirloom or a day of fun. Here are a few of my favorites you can try at home...

1. Make a recipe scrapbook with the kids. Simply photograph the children preparing their favorite dishes, paste the photo along with the recipe in their book and Voila!! The kids will have a compilation of their family favorites and side by side photos to see how much they've grown over the years.

2. Choosing favorite works of art from pre-K, digitalizing pictures of them and creating a set of thank you note cards for their teachers.

3. My girls love playing with sidewalk chalk, but when the weather turned my friend told me about a great way to enjoy outdoor activities indoors.
By purchasing a 4 x 6 indoor/outdoor carpet mat kids can continue sketch their favorite shapes and doodles all year long. Simply vacuum over carpet to create a clean slate for next time.

5. Let you kids embellish small canvases with hooks and artwork to show exactly what hangs where. For example, they can draw a colorful bag (to hang purses or backpacks), a little girl or boy with a scarf (to hang scarves or hats) or a dog (to hang Bud's leash).
Once we organize our 'mud area' we plan on throwing on our smocks and painting fun pictures. I adore several of Laura's great ideas for cute hanging hook motifs, but if you're looking for a little fun DIY activity the whole family can enjoy, this is the one!

Be sure to post and share some of your ingenious family fun ideas for our baroque babies readers to learn about. You never know, your creative endeavor could be discovered by thousands...we would love to hear from you!!
