Pumpkins at the Palace

The pumpkin exhibition at the Ludwigsburg Palace officially opened on Friday September fourth. This is not any pumpkin exhibition, but the worlds’ largest, as they claim, and I would not dispute it! Each year for ten years running now, they put together a different theme for the autumn pumpkin show. Since I’ve been in Ludwigsburg, we’ve had the wild west, the farm, Noah’s ark, and journey to the stars.

2009 is the 50th anniversary of the fairy-tale garden at the Palace and so I was not surprised and utterly delighted to see a fairy-tale theme when we visited on Saturday. It is such a clever and completely charming display this year! In addition to strolling among the pumpkin creations, you can buy pumpkins and other autumn-related gifts, eat a variety of pumpkin treats from savory to sweet, jump in a hay fort, and enjoy the normal offerings of the Palace and fairy-tale gardens. There is no extra admission charge to the pumpkin exhibition and it’s on through November 1st. If you are anywhere in our area or even further away, it is well worth a visit. If you are not, I hope you can enjoy vicariously through these photos!

I visited this exhibition some years ago and was impressed ... the photos you show are wonderful and as well the describition. And Ludwigsburg gardens is worth to visit - at all ages. I loved to go there when I was child and we did same with our children and when we have visitors from abroad.
