Kimcasso

I'll admit it, I'm a polka dot junkie. I somehow believe kids and polka dots go hand in hand. Whether you choose a mod format to enhance a little coolness to your new baby's nursery or inspire a whole theme around a creative idea for your toddler's room; polka dots are just plain fun. I decided to surrender to my 'Kimcasso' fantasy and make (2) handmade polka dot pieces of 'art' (I'll use this term loosely here) for the girls' bedroom. Although 'Q's' letter looks a little bloated, my masterpiece turned out cute, and I managed to find several pieces to compliment our new featured letter blocks.

To add a little flavor, break up the boldness of the dots and flatter the unused space on the floor I found a cute rug at Zara Home Kids that combined our new colors perfectly and hung two large pink Ikea lamps (minus the light bulbs of course) for a little deco flair. Of course my 'little project' involved a lot of patience, time and effort, but my girls were thrilled with the outcome of my tour de force and super proud of mommy for managing such a daunting task (at least for creatively challenged me).
I'm far from finished with the girls' room, but I've heard through artist friends of mine that 'taking time to feel inspired' is part of the 'creative' process (wink~wink). I'm curious to see what we'll dream up next. Until then.....

Okay, I realize these pictures look totally amateur on film, but they really do look cute in person!!
