Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain

After escaping the Midwest and landing in the middle of Europe, I quickly realized that mad dashes to my car during thunderstorms (sans umbrella) would not suffice, and almost immediately, upon arrival, bought an umbrella. Politely turning down the free 'Post Bank' umbrella my husband tried to gift me, I went in search of the perfect urbanite umbrella that was stylish, classy and worthy of several trips to the Kindergarten and train station.

Amongst the vast selection of the ever so glamorous and classic Lisbeth Dahl originals in Merz & Benzing, Stuttgart (they are ridiculously gorgeous!!) I stumbled upon a few other unique pieces from Chantal Thomass, famed creator of the luxurious French lingerie brand, Chantal Thomass, that are ultra feminine and sensuous. Don't ask me why I'm so obsessed with these 'hair saving' rain and snow parachutes, but I cannot help but stare at their pretty faces and those carrying them. Perhaps this is an unhealthy obsession, but it sure is fun.

Yes, super fancy. You can find the most unique umbrellas in Europe, where people spend a majority of their lives outside. I think the creativity is pure genius!!

I must have one!!! Are they available anywhere outside of Stuttgart or do I need to make a trip there? Cause I totally would.

Okay Mom in High Heels, you are too funny and I like your thinking!!

The reason I did not link to Chantal Thomass's site is because some of her umbrellas (although gorgeous) can be costly. Your best bet is to google 'Chantal Thomass Umbrella' and look for great rates on yahoo, ebay or several other comparible sites (like I did). She owns a large lingerie brand in France so be sure to type in umbrellas for price comparisons. Also, I found under www.brolliesgalore.co.uk several brands (also chantal thomass) and a VERY close replica to Lisbeth Dahl's umbrellas here, http://brolliesgalore.co.uk/acatalog/SIGNATURE_BELLA_UMBRELLAS.html

Have fun hunting...they are well worth the effort!!
