After attempting a 25 mile bike journey several years back I discovered one thing about myself...I really do not enjoy biking that much. I know, shock, I live in Germany and I DON'T LIKE BIKING (I can see the Germans reading this now with open mouths). I don't mind a little pedal...pedal here and there, but I'd rather walk the hill than pedal tirelessly up it and not move anywhere. However, our friend Sonia, who brought us the very cool Austrian Rest Stop Adventure Park post sent us a very interesting link to a versatile form of biking (with kids) that would have, a few years ago, changed my outlook on cycling. I will let Taga, the manufacturers of this hip form of transport sum up their product, 'Taga is a multifunctional urban vehicle, uniquely designed to suit the needs of today's parents and children.' Basically, what they are trying to say is, this carrier will make your life 10 xs easier. I find the idea of this 'city car substitute' trend genius and love how parents cycling with newborns, toddlers and baby's new sister can conveniently transition to a moveable stroller or highchair for easy mobility. Definitely take time to check out this Netherlands creation and let us know what you think. Oh, and no, I do not deprive my children of bicycle fun (just b/c it's not my favorite leisure time activity) and we cycle often ON THE BICYCLE MARKED PATHWAYS...yes, I'm the one you were probably cling-a-ling-a-linging at :-)

Netherlands idea of bicycle fun....and you'll love it!

I love how much biking there is in The Netherlands. We lived near Aachen and about 20 minutes from The Netherlands so we go there quite often (for the English movie theaters).
I'm hoping to figure out how to get some biking in during this summer with baby.
Then you must check out this site, Kat!!
hehe. great post! I was really hoping to pull my bike out this week in Berlin. But it's snowing again. Drats. So I'll stick to going places by foot with you. Thanks for the lighter side of not biking!

I never would have imagined in my life that I would own a bicycle & take care of it almost like I would a car. Since I've lived in the Netherlands, this has become a fact & I don't own a car anymore. Not now. If I ever have children, this invention might just be my thing! Also, have you ever seen a 'bakfiets?'

This Taga reminds me of a cooler, safer & more modern version of the bakfiets! Thanks for sharing about this! I'll spread the word to my friends :-)
